Appointed by Governor Perdue, Commission members brought fresh eyes and ideas to ways government could manage assets and operations to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve service.
The task forces produced 130 actionable recommendations for cost savings and customer service in government and new opportunities for a growing economy. Ninety-eight percent of CNG recommendations have been put into effect through the Governor's Office of Implementation. The Commission’s operation and small staff were privately funded, and all CNG members, task force participants, and consultants contributed their services pro bono.
